Wellhouse Leisure increases range
Wellhouse Leisure will have six Ford-based campervans to show visitors to the Motorhome and Caravan Show this October, five of which are new or updated.
Ford Transit Giant
For anyone wanting more interior space than a Wellhouse Ford Transit Custom Misano, and a high-top roof, there is now the new Wellhouse Ford Transit Giant with a body length of 6.0m. This is Wellhouse Leisure’s first conversion of the Ford Transit, long wheelbase.
It has been created as an off-road adventure vehicle with the option of stylish body kit and all-wheel drive. Prices start from £55,000 for 2WD model, and £70,000 for the AWD model with body-kit.
For all-year use, and superior ground clearance, the heater and the fresh and waste water tanks are located in-board beneath a raised floor at the rear of the vehicle. With a large leisure battery, solar panels, and an outside gas BBQ point, it is perfect for off-grid camping adventures.
Inside, it has swiveling driver and passenger seats, plus two individual, sliding rear seats which can easily be removed, if required, to create space to carry bikes or outdoor sports equipment. There's also a drop-down double bed, a large kitchen with compressor fridge, cooker and sink with hot and cold water, plus a full-width bathroom across the rear with cassette toilet and shower. All interior furniture is gloss white for a bright and modern feel.
Ford Transit Custom Le Tour Van ‘Adventure Edition’
The Adventure Edition version of the Le Tour Van is based on a Ford Transit Custom Kombi (in Limited trim level) with twin sliding side doors, and is great value for money at just £39,995 on the road (compared to £34,000 for the standard model).
Its distinctive exterior is wrapped in matt green with a contrasting black roof, 18in Wolfrace alloy wheels and off-road van-rated tyres, Rapture style Ford grill and LED roof spoiler lights.
The Le Tour Van is designed to be either a campervan or a van. It has an elevating roof with a double bed and the option of a cooking pod unit and two individual rear seats which fit to rails in the floor. These can both be easily added for camping trips.
When fitted, the rear seats can convert in to two single beds. The driver and passenger seats (heated and with armrests) swivel to face the rear, and there is a generous specification for camping, including: solar panel, 12v electrics and leisure battery, 240v mains hook up, Eberspacher heating system, and windows in both side doors, each with a blind and flyscreen.
This model also has a new, removable canvas storage system for the rear side panels, plus additional storage panels in the rear tailgate, and the option of a rear awning.
Ford Transit Custom Misano Sport
The best-selling Ford Transit Custom Misano (which replaced the Terrier that Wellhouse Leisure produced from 2013-2018) is now available in a Sport trim level.
In addition to the standard Misano specification, the new Sport trim level adds: 18in alloy wheels, leather upholstery, rear spoiler and full body kit. It is available in standard and LWB, with prices starting from £55,000.
Ford Transit Custom Misano Van
To benefit from lower road tax of only £265 a year, Wellhouse Leisure now offers a Ford Transit Custom Misano Van as a new campervan conversion on used Ford Transit Custom models (12 to 18 months old) with low mileages (usually under 20,000 miles).
This conversion can be in standard or Sport trim levels, with short or long wheelbase models, plus the option of having a high-top roof fitted in place of the elevating roof. Prices are expected to be around £39,000 (depending on age and mileage) – approximately £10,000 less than am equivalent brand new model.
Although the model on display is a brand new vehicle (to comply with show regulations), it shows the exact trim and specification avaialable, which includes: side kitchen with fridge, sink and cooker, blown-air heating, solar panel and three-seater, crash-tested rear seat that converts in to a double bed.
Ford MS-RT Transit Custom
For a campervan with extreme ‘wow’ factor, look no further! The MS-RT Transit Custom interior and exterior body styling is inspired by motorsport, and has the higher powered, 170PS Ford 2.0 TDCi engine with a six-speed manual or (optional) automatic transmission.
MS-RT is a specialist (QVM accredited) converter of Ford commercial vehicles and has created a dramatic style, with bespoke front bumper with daytime running lights, 18in OZ racing alloy wheels, twin exhaust system, sports steering wheel and Nappa leather sports seats. On the road prices start from £60,000.
Ford Transit Custom Evie 2
The Wellhouse Ford Evie is more of a camping car than a campervan, and is a former winner of the ‘Micro Camper of the Year’ award in the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s annual Motorhome Design Awards.
Based on the Ford Transit Connect long wheelbase, the latest model has been redesigned to be two-seater model with a full side kitchen conversion and long bench seat in the rear.
It now comes with a 25-litre front opening fridge as standard, and is available with the award winding Ford 1.0-litre Ecoboost engine as well as diesel alternatives. Prices start from around £33,000 for a new one, however, Wellhouse Leisure can also convert used models, such as a 2017/2018 1.5TDCi diesel model from around £24,000.
