Wellhouse Ford Terrier to be shown in Dusseldorf
British campervan, the Wellhouse Ford Terrier by Lunar, will be available across Europe following its official debut outside the UK on the Lunar Caravans stand (no. C30, hall 12) at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (26 August to 3 September 2017).
Following the recent acquisition of Wellhouse Leisure by UK leisure vehicle manufacturer Lunar Caravans, the new venture, Lunar Campers Limited, will make the Wellhouse Ford Terrier available through its existing European motorhome dealer network as well as from selected Ford dealers.
The Wellhouse Ford Terrier by Lunar is based on the Ford Transit Custom Trend with the latest Euro 6 EcoBlue engine and one of the best-selling campervans in the UK thanks to its quality, design, high standard specification and value for money with a price of €53,995.
A popular feature of the Terrier’s design is the crash-tested rear seat. It has seat belts for three people, and slides forwards or backwards in a Schnierle rail system in the floor to bring passengers closer to the driver or to maximise rear loadspace while travelling; or slides back to maximise living space while camping, and, converts into a double bed. This makes the Terrier a true multi-function vehicle and at 4.97m long, which is convenient for shopping, parking as well as school runs.
The Terrier’s other stand-out feature is its high-quality interior with a side kitchen and wardrobe unit by Tecnoform, the premium Italian furniture manufacturer. It is available in different colours, and is a one-piece unit to improve its longevity and to reduce the opportunity for noise from rattles or squeaks while travelling.
The high standard specification includes: Eberspacher 2.2kw blown-air heating, 42-litre Dometic compressor fridge, electric step, portable toilet, LED interior lighting, 40-litre fresh water and waste water tanks, lined curtains to living area and Remis screens for the cab, 240v and 12v power sockets, a 25m mains hook-up cable, a two-ring SMEV hob and sink unit with glass lid. There’s also a 95w solar panel to help charge the leisure battery.
The Ford Transit Custom cab is also well equipped with heated front seats, with twin armrests, which swivel to face the living area when camping; heated windscreen; heated and powered, folding door mirrors; cab air-conditioning; cruise control; DAB radio with multi-function display; electric windows; front and rear parking sensors; rear privacy glass; 16 inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and Ford Sync with emergency assistance.
Power is provided by the latest 130 PS, 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue Euro 6 diesel engines with a six-speed manual gearbox, or the option of automatic transmission.
It is possible to increase the specification further with optional extras such as a SMEV mini-grill, a roof bed with mattress and sprung base (elevating roof models only), Ford Satnav system, Thule 2.6m roll-out awning with LED lights, rear cold water shower, bike racks, winter pack (lined water tanks with heat element), external gas BBQ point, towbar, leather upholstery or an upgrade to the 170 PS Ford EcoBlue engine.
David Elliott, Sales Director of Lunar Campers commented: ‘We are delighted to be able to building LHD models and finally introduce the Wellhouse Ford Terrier campervan to the rest of Europe. We are confident it will prove as popular as it has in the UK.
