La Strada Regent L
The Hessian camper van manufacturer la strada this year brought out its Regent L, a six meter long camper van based on the new Mercedes Sprinter.
La Strada says that the highlight of Regent L is the spacious bathroom with a shower which is mounted transversally at the rear. The bathroom uses the entire width of the vehicle and also includes the toilet, the wash bowl and a storage space for toiletries.
In front of the bathroom lies the kitchen. Along with the several drawers and wall cabinets for kitchen utensils it offers also a sink and a triple flame cooker with Piezo ignition. As part of the kitchen unit, there is an 80 litre refrigerator at an accessible height. Next to it there is a cabinet and storage compartments for clothing.
The sleeping area of Regent L is on the second floor with one 2 x 1.40 meter large fold-down bed which is accessible by a ladder. The high-quality cold-foam mattress and a Froli disc sprung system ensure restful sleep. During the day, the bed is folded up and thus ensures standing height in the vehicle. Even when the bed is folded down, one can still sit in the rotating seats in the driver's cabin.
The suite includes also a seat bench. Their backrests and seating surfaces can be fixed in four positions: With a vertical rest for the driving mode and with a reclined rest and forward-moved seating surface for the living mode. The comfortable seating in all positions is ensured by the convex form of the seat back, which adapts itself to the form of the back. The seat bench is equipped with two three-point belts. The rotating captains’ seats serve as chairs in the living area. The sitting concept is available in combination with all ten fabric and many leather variants. Three furniture decors are also available for selection, as well as 14 outside lacquer coatings.
The newest generation of the Mercedes Sprinter helps the camper van travellers with many optional assistant systems and comfort functions. The crosswind assistant holds the camper van securely on course at strong wind gusts. The blind spot assistant informs prior to the lane change about vehicles which are dangerously close in the adjacent traffic lane. The distance-warning assistant aids with warns of too short a distance to vehicles driving in front. All three systems are world premieres in this class of vehicle. Also new are the lane departure assistant and the high-beam assistant. The engines correspond to the requirements of the Euro-5 emissions standard or, optionally, even to Euro-6 emissions standard. Engine sizes are from 130 to 190 horsepower. There is also cruise control, optional automatic transmission, multifunctional steering wheel and driver's cab air conditioning.
