The summer attracts nature enthusiasts to Kranjska Gora. Breathtaking panoramic vistas and the rich natural and cultural heritage offer countless opportunities for outings. The magnificent mountains are a true paradise for both hikers and mountain climbers alike, while cyclists can try the more demanding mountain slopes or just relax taking an enjoyable ride along the well-kept trails.

The Zgornjesavska valley offers genuine contact with nature. The pleasant temperatures and the fresh mountain air guarantee pleasure at discovering the countless sights of the valley.

Hiking is one of the most popular forms of enjoying an active holiday. There are enough trails for everyone, ranging from the easiest recreational strolls to the demanding Alpine tours which require experience, suitable mountaineering or climbing equipment and the assistance of a mountain guide.

The hiker’s map of the Zgornjesavska valley shows, describes and suggested hiking trails. There are 20 well-kept and sign-posted trails to be found on the map. The hiker’s map can be obtained from all tourist information offices of Kranjska Gora, Mojstrana and Rateče.

A faster and more active way of enjoying the charms of Kranjska Gora and its surrounding is by bike. You can decide on a leisurely pedalling or on more demanding trips into the heart of the Alpine valleys. For this reason, a map of cycling trips in the Zgornjesavska valley is available, which shows over 200 kilometres of cycling tracks.

The summer temperatures make the Zgornjesavska valley a pleasant place for get-togethers and fun. The most eager can visit the three-country border or ascend the Vršič mountain pass by bike or enjoy the events of the Kekec festival.

 

Tour bus

The purpose of this tour bus is to connect places and attractions in the Upper Sava Valley and to ensure added value to all tourism-related businesses and individuals when designing and marketing tourism products.

The tour bus has a glass roof specially designed to offer passengers a 360-degree panoramic view of the landscape. An integrated GPS system enables them to discover the Upper Sava Valley, its cultural and natural heritage, cuisine and other attractions in Slovene, English, German and Italian.

The trail includes more than 10 most attractive sights of the Kranjska Gora tourist destination.

 
 
Nordic Centre Planica

The Nordic Centre Planica is an exceptional environment for continuing the Slovenian tradition of sky jumping and flying, as well as for cross-country training and competing.

Within the framework of the Nordic Centre Planica, seven new ski jumping hills were built with the accompanying facilities. The ski-flying hill built by the brothers Gorišek was also renovated.

The central building, which represents the centre for cross-country skiing and ski jumping, comprises a viewing platform, the Planica Museum on two floors, a wind tunnel and catering facilities.

In addition to external cross-country skiing tracks in the winter months, it is also possible to use the covered internal cross-country skiing polygon in the warmer months.

Via ferrata in Mojstrana in Mojstrana!

Above the lovely village of Mojstrana, there are two attractive secured routes or via ferratas on the slope of the Grančišče hill which offer a new experience in the kingdom of mountains. You can choose between two via ferratas with different categories of difficulty. Between them lies a route suitable also for beginner climbers. If you follow the via ferratas, you will reach the summit of the Grančišče hill, offering breath-taking views over the nearby Julian Alps and the Karavanke mountain range.

 
 
Planica Zipline

Experience the sensations of the Slovenian eagles and the world ski jumping elite with the help of the steepest zipline in the world, and fly over the Planica Large Hill, the biggest ski flying hill in the world. The spectacular flight is 566m long and one reaches a speed of up to 90km/h in just a few seconds.

 

Place of adventures - Reach the bivouac
At the Slovenian Alpine Museum in Mojstrana there is a 30 minute thrilling experience – Place of adventures: “Reach the bivouac!” 

Will you decode the secret codes? Will you avoid the traps and precipices? Will you memorise the right path? Will you find the bivouac and escape the danger?

The game of reaching the bivouac goes through four rooms under the rockery – in each room a different adventure is waiting for you.
