Stary Vinohrady, Czechia

Below the Pratzen Heights we find the area known as the Old Wineyards (Stary Vinohrady).  The Tsar moved his HQ from Krenovice some time in the early hours of 2 December 1805 to a rise here.  After the Russians and Austrians attacked the French right from the Pratzen Heights, the French centre attacked the weakened Allied position.  From Stary Vinohrady, the Russian commanders must have looked on in shock seeing this manoeuvre and this was the scene of massed charges including the location of where the French lost the one standard they lost during this battle.
