Pack, Austria

Pac, a village in Styria, Austria with around 400 inhabitants is located on the Pack Saddle west of Graz.  One arrives either via the old route across the Alps or via the motorway which runs around 2km from the village.  The village relies on agriculture and the tourists who come to explore the Packalpe.  The Packalpe is part of the Lavantal Alps.  The highest summits in this range are the Ameringkogel (2187 m above sea level), Größenberg / Größing (2152 m above sea level), Speikkogel (1993 m above sea level), Peterer Riegel (1967 m above sea level), Hirschegger Alm (1933 m above sea level) and Rappold Kogel (1928 m above sea level).
