The charming medieval town of Kitzbühel, also a renowned ski resort, hosts an enchanting Christmas Market during the Advent season. From the 28 November 2018, Kitzbühel’s delightful cobbled streets will be filled with wooden stalls selling traditional crafts and Christmas ornaments, plus festive local food and drink, including mulled wine. Twinkling fairly lights, beautifully decorated fir trees and the delectable scents of these seasonal foods will get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Children will love the campfires, storytelling at the Kitzbühel Museum and the petting zoo where they can ride ponies. On 6 December 2018, St Nicholas will give well-behaved girls and boys sweet gifts and there will be several magical concerts during the market’s opening, including the re-enactment of the story of ‘Silent Night, Holy Night’ to mark the 200th anniversary of the carol. When visitors to Kitzbühel aren’t exploring this magical wonderland, they can discover the large expanse of slopes, made famous by the world’s most notorious downhill racecourse, the Streif.
