Fleetwood to allow overnight use of car park
Fleetwood Council in Lancashire, UK is about to launch a twelve month trial allowing motorhome parking for a fee of £5 per night for a maximum of three nights at a car park located close to the town centre and beach. Thus the council hopes to attract more visitors to the area.
Currently the council’s current Traffic Regulation Order expressly forbids overnight occupancy in any of its car parks.
Nearby Fylde Council offers overnight motorhome parking at St Annes’ swimming pool for up to three nights for a £5 per night fee. The site offers no facilities, although there are public toilets 500m to the north of the site.
Blackpool Council offers five sites for motorhomes: Foxhall Village Car Park, Gynn Square Car Park, Lytham Road Car Park, Seasiders Car Park and South Car Park for GBP10 per 12 hours.
