UK tourists opting to stay in UK
UK tourists are increasingly likely to stay at home largely due to the collapse of the value of GBP in the wake of Brexit. Recent research by travel trade association Abta has revealed the information, with Europe following a close second with 63 percent planning to visit the continent and 14 percent looking to travel to North America. The main reason given by those questioned for cutting back is the pure cost of a trip – just 31 percent of those questioned are putting aside more money for their holidays this year, while 47 percent of those who responded are hoping to spend the same and 14 percent plan to spend less.
The 106 Camping and Caravanning Club sites have seen a ten percent increase in booking as compared to last year. Motorhome registrations have also increased by 14.9 percent.
