Celebrating New Year twice

If you are worried about missing the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve or want to have a double experience, you could consider going to the village of Juoksengi in the Arctic Circle.  Taking advantage of the one hours time difference between Sweden and Finland, the village uses the slogan “We do it twice”.

Celebrations will be taking place on the frozen Torne River, featuring hundreds of flaming cressets, an ice bar with drinks served in ice glasses, as well as two sessions of spectacular fireworks. The clock strikes twelve twice in Juoksengi, with an hour interval - so you should not miss it!
