Algarve : not just sun, sea and sand!
In order to boost the amount of things that one can do on the Algarve, local tourist authorities have launched "365 Algarve", a cultural programme that is intended to complement the traditional range of tourist activities on offer in the region.
The programme comprises over a thousand presentations of music, dance, theatre, exhibitions, activities involving the region's heritage, and much more. The first edition started on October 2016 and will run until May 2017, with the events being staged all across the Algarve.
With a mild climate outside the summer season, the region is also devoted to host more active tourists, especially walking and cycling lovers. There are many designated routes throughout the region, both on the coast, passing over high ground and cliffs, and inland, travelling through the fragrance of rock rose, gorse or French lavender, from which we highlight: the Algarve Way, the Guadiana Grande Randonnée and the Ecovia Bike Trail.
