NZ app links campers with private sites

Campers in New Zealand can take advantage of a product from Auckland based company Parkable which links them to property owners prepared to rent out their land for use by motorhomers.  This may be of interest not only to farmers but also to businesses such as cafes, historic sites, adventure tourism businesses, vineyards and commercial accommodation providers.

There are now 400 properties listed on Campable and the company expects to provide 50,000 guest nights in their first year.  They hope to expand to Australia next year.

Charges are from NZD10 a night for a basic parking space to NZD60 for a resort car park with access to electricity and hotel amenities.  Most sites required vehicles to be fully self contained with toilet facilities.
