Glen Nevis named as AA's best campsite in Scotland for 2019

Glen Nevis Caravan & Camping Park at Fort William is the AA's campsite of the year 2019 for Scotland.

Situated in stunning Glen Nevis close to Neptune’s Staircase on the Caledonian Canal and just a few miles from Fort William, this large and very well maintained park is set in a beautifully landscaped area of mature trees beside the River Nevis, with easy access to the path leading to Ben Nevis.

The site is divided into areas by beech hedges to give a sense of seclusion to caravan and motorhome users, who have superb hardstanding pitches and their own quality amenity blocks; tent campers have their own specific areas and large well-kept amenity blocks. There has been significant investment in the park over the past couple of years to cater for the change in customer demand, with extra electric hook ups to pitches, and for those seeking a glamping experience, ten luxury, wooden camping pods have been installed in Deer Park – all have unrivalled views towards Ben Nevis and are perfect for when the weather turns inclement in the mountains.

In addition, the park has fishing rights on the River Ness, an excellent café-restaurant, a well-equipped shop, and guests are welcome to explore the 1,000 acres of the Glen Nevis Estate during their stay. A worthy winner for Scotland.
